Reflection:
Have you ever pictured exactly how something would play out? Maybe you imagined a relationship lasting forever, a dream job coming through, or a plan working out just right – and then it didn’t. And suddenly, you’re left wondering: Did I mess this up? Did I miss what God had for me?
Truth is, we all have expectations. We all hope for certain outcomes. But life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagined, and that doesn’t mean we’re on the wrong path.
Sometimes, things don’t work out because they’re not meant to. And other times, they unfold differently than we expected, because God is writing a better story than the one we had planned.
Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that we can make all the plans we want, but it’s God’s purpose that will stand. So if something didn’t happen the way you hoped, don’t panic. Don’t assume it was wrong. It might just be part of a different path that’s still leading you exactly where you’re meant to be.
This week, I want to encourage you: don’t beat yourself up over what didn’t work out. You’re not behind. You’re not off-track. What’s meant for you will find you – maybe not in your timing or your way, but in God’s perfect way.

Ways to Trust God’s Timing and Plan
1. Loosen Your Expectations: That thing you’re trying control? Hand it over to God. Say, “Lord, I trust You even if this doesn’t go how I pictured.”
2. Believe That Closed Doors Are Kindness: If something didn’t work out, it might be God saying, “I have something better.” It’s not rejection – it’s redirection.
3. Stop Blaming Yourself: Just because it didn’t go “as planned” doesn’t mean you failed. God doesn’t waste anything, not even any detours.
4. Open Your Heart to What Could Be: Maybe it didn’t happen the way you thought it would. That’s okay. Be open to the new way God might be showing up.
5. Stay Grounded in the Truth: Remind yourself of this: If it’s truly meant for me, it will come back around in God’s timing. I don’t have to force it.
“If something is meant for you, you won’t have to fight to keep it. God’s peace will confirm what’s yours.”

🌸 Pray with Me 🌸
God, I admit it’s hard to let go of the way I thought things would turn out. But I trust that Your plan is bigger and better than anything I could create on my own. Help me release control, rest in Your timing, and believe that what’s meant for me will never pass me by. Amen.

This Week’s Faith Challenge
• Let Go of One Expectation: Think of something you’ve been holding onto tightly. Say a prayer and give it to God.
• Write It Out: Journal about something that didn’t go the way you wanted, but that led to unexpected good. Reflect on how God was in that moment.
• Share This Truth: Know someone struggling with “what could’ve been”? Send them a reminder that if it’s meant to be, it will be -in God’s way and time.

Closing Thought
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to force anything to happen. And you definitely don’t have to blame yourself when things don’t go according to plan.
What’s meant for you will come. It will come in peace, in purpose, and in God’s perfect timing.
So take a breath. Let go a little. Trust a little more. And keep walking forward, knowing that God’s plan for you is still unfolding, even if it looks different than you expected.
